“The survival and advancement of man through heroic battle and planetary fortune”

This artwork diptych continues Sunil's distinctive exploration of overcoming adversity by presenting a heroic portrayal of strength, resilience, and fortitude. It draws parallels between a manufactured soldier toy pose and the everyday battles of survival that we all face.

A Suprematist-inspired composition lends heightened tenacity to the figure, with strong diagonal tilts introducing energy and a non-objective structure. These dynamic slants create visual tension, guiding the viewer's eye through the composition and reinforcing a sense of movement.

The richly worked surface bears the traces of both construction and removal, combining acrylic paint, spray paint, and Italian Luresa gold leaf. Scraped textures and overpainted marks reveal the passage of time and the artist's process, allowing each stage of the painting's evolution to remain visible rather than concealed.
