The dynamic heavyweight energy of sound system culture is fused with classic composition of traditional portraiture. The considered vibrancy of the colour palette corresponds to the energy of the low-frequency bassline.

The artwork carries on the strong tradition of Sunil's unique depictions of overcoming adversity and painted heroic portrayals of strength and fortitude.

Surface creation carries traces of construction and removal of paint, both acrylic and sprays. Scraped textures, overpainted marks. Time and process remain visible rather than hidden.
