Sunil Pawar was selected in 2010 to join this distinguished lineage of artists, an exceptional honour and significant recognition of his artistic practice.
A contemporary reimagining of the bold visual language and graphic vocabulary of Parisian protest posters, drawing upon their history of political expression while reinterpreting their forms, symbols and energy through a contemporary creative lens.
(September 2026) Two sets of posters have been acquired by The George Mason public research University in Virginia, Fairfax. USA, where they will be future proofed for their historical and cultural significance alongside their existing collection archive of Parti Communiste Francais posters, which includes Pablo Picasso's seminal peace dove artwork.
The George Mason collection documents PCF’s political and social movements spanning from circa 1945, key topics including Peace, Human Rights, The civil rights movement and Environmental Campaigns.
To coincide, on 1st October 2026, an exceptionally rare release of just eight copies of each colourway of this Sunil Pawar poster will be made available directly from the artist’s studio, priced at £500 each.
These highly limited examples represent a scarce opportunity to acquire this historical work with direct studio provenance. With only eight copies being released, their rarity is likely to enhance their desirability among collectors as Pawar’s profile and market continue to develop.
